Wendi Tarver,
mom to Gracen and wife to Brad, packed up her family and moved from Lubbock
to Rowlett to begin her first year of teaching. Follow along as she
starts this new chapter in her life - a new school, a new city, and the
adventures of keeping up with a two-year-old daughter.
SEPTEMBER 4, 2007
Anyone who knows me knows I have a lot to say. The problem lately is I don’t
really have anyone to say it to. My husband, our two year old daughter and I
moved to Rowlett from Lubbock in July. I am a first year teacher in Dallas
ISD. My husband is hauling cars for several dealerships located in the Dallas
area. We left all of our friends and most of our family to move down here and
start a new chapter in our lives.
Over the next few months, I hope to entertain, inform and maybe even educate
you, the reader. I’m sure that I will have plenty to talk about in my life. So
sit back and enjoy my ramblings.
My first week of school has been very interesting, to say the least. I am a
Behavior Program teacher at a primary campus. So far, I only have one
student. My student suffers from a variety of emotional disorders, but is really
a joy to work with. I am hoping to get more students in my classroom in the
upcoming weeks. The staff members at my school have been great to me. I am
really enjoying my new career!
My sweet, amazing daughter has had her ups and downs over the past month. I
didn’t realize what an impact this new life would have on her little world. She
has been testing her boundaries frequently. I think I have gotten new grey hairs
over the last few weeks. But at the end of the day, while she is sitting in my
lap reading her bedtime book, everything comes into perspective.
This is the amazing, sometimes crazy life that I’ve chosen and I wouldn’t
trade it for anything. Kenny Chesney puts it all in a neat little package…”Hey I
wanted it all and that’s what I got.”
